Useful information that will help you planning your trip to Andorra

The Principality of Andorra, with a population of approximately 78,000 people, is one of the world’s safest places.

The political system is a parliamentary co-Principality and it has two heads of State: the bishop of La Seu d’Urgell and the President of the French Republic.

The country has a high mountain climate, with mild temperatures in summer and cold in winter.

The official language of Andorra is Catalan, although there is also a common use of Spanish, French and some use Portuguese too. All businesses related to tourism also speaks English.

The official currency is the Euro (€).

Entry requirements: Andorra maintains an excellent relationship with its European neighbors. Although it does not belong to the Schengen territory, it has agreements of regarding boarding control of travelers with Spain and France.
EU citizens:

  • Over 18 years old: Gobernment issued ID or passport
  • Under 18 accompanied by their parents: Gobernment issued ID or passport + family registration book
  • Under 18 accompanied by a third person: Gobernment issued ID or passport + permit to leave the country issued by the police

Health care: Andorra has a complete health network that covers the needs throughout the territory. This is done by the “Servei Andorra d ‘Atenció health”. There are agreements with the public health systems of other countries. It is recomendable to inform yourself before you travel.

Shops are open throughout the year with the following exceptions

January 1st: New Year
March 14th: Constitution Day
September 8th: Our Lady of Meritxell, patron saint of Andorra
December 25th: Christmas
